Meel Group Sustainability Policy
Sustainability is at the top of our list.
Meel Group
Increasingly, sustainability is becoming a vital issue for businesses, supply chains and society in general. At the Meel Group we are all about looking towards the future and finding new and better ways of doing things.
At the Meel Group we do our best to work towards sustainability. We’re not perfect - but always progressing and improving. Growing a sustainable business is something that we take very seriously. We have a range of environmental, social and business strategies that not only help us reduce any negative impact on the environment but also help us give something positive back.

“Using high-quality products and materials ensures our installations are designed for an extended lifespan.
We work to the design principles of the circular economy, whereby installations can be repaired rather than replaced.”

Recycling and responsible waste disposal
We are dedicated to avoiding waste disposal that requires landfill. All office card and paper waste is recycled. All waste metals are sorted and recycled. Electrical components and equipment removed from our refurbishment projects are disposed of and recycled correctly under WEEE regulations.
Electric Fleet
With a Sustainability Solutions department forming part of our Group, we were early adopters of electric vehicles. We now have a growing fleet of electric vans and staff vehicles, enabling our service and installation engineers to work with a minimum carbon footprint and zero emissions.
Environmental Civil Works
Reduced environmental impact
We continue to aim to reduce our installations’ environmental impact; we are always looking at ways of reducing our carbon footprint. Recently, we have been working with our civil engineer partners using 80% reduced carbon ground works when installing Electric Vehicle charging stations.
Reduced carbon ground works incorporate electrified plant, recycled road markings and reduced carbon concrete.

Our Tree & Hedgerows Program
Planting trees is an excellent way to mitigate climate change as trees absorb the carbon from the atmosphere in the form of CO2. During their long lifespan, trees ‘lock up’ carbon before being used for timber as part of a managed plantation.

East Cheshire Hospice
By working with East Cheshire Hospice, we have the opportunity to make a real difference to people in our region who are facing some of the toughest challenges of their lives.
We are humbled by the dedicated work carried out by the hospice and Meel Group, and its staff are very pleased to be able to assist with support and fundraising.
